Halloween

While out for a walk a couple of years ago in my pain and weakness and noticing Halloween decorations all around and being stressed and heavily laden in grief, exhaustion, frustration, sadness and despair because of them, the Word of the Lord came to me saying; “Witches and warlocks glorify sorcery, and black cats glorify superstition. These things do not glorify God who has all Power.”

I am reminded of the LORD God saying to His children, “Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits. Do not seek after them to be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his child pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead, for all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD.”  I am reminded of Jesus casting out demons and unclean spirits with a Word, and said, “If I cast out demons by the finger and Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.”  The LORD God said, “When they say to you, ‘Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter; should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?’”

I hear the Lord say, “Frankenstein, ghosts, monsters, bats, spiders, webs and darkness glorify fear.”

I hear Him say, “I did not give you a spirit of fear for these things.”  I am reminded that the LORD God said, “Fear not for I am with you. I am your God.”

I hear the Lord say, “Skeletons, skulls, zombies, mummies, grim reaper and tombs glorify sin because the wages of sin is death.”

I hear the Lord say, “Knives, blood and axes glorify murder, suicide and death, but I am a God of Life.”

I hear in the heavens, parents say, “We take our children trick-or-treating for candy.”  And I hear the Lord say, “Candy weakens the immune system making one susceptible to colds and flus. This is why the world says around this time of year that cold and flu season is upon you. Do not eat foods created by idols. They lead to sickness and disease.”

I hear in the heavens people say, “But Halloween is a tradition.”

I hear the Lord say, “Why do you transgress the commandment of God because of your traditions?”

I hear the world say, “But we don’t practice these things. We just display them for fun.”  I sought the Lord for His answer.  He told me fall decorations such as pumpkins, not carved in evil and superstition, and fall flowers such as mums, wreaths and corn stalks, hay bales, gourds and scarecrows are acceptable.

The next morning, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the evil, wicked and horror displays I saw yesterday and see in the world when walking, biking or driving around, and He immediately said, “Displaying these things are an offense to Christ Jesus”, and revealed why, saying, “Jesus brought the Light, the Truth of the One true God, casting out sin, sorcery and superstitions and everything evil and wicked, and told us to love God, Who is Life, and healed the sick, forgave our sins and told us to not fear the world that does not have power to kill the soul but to fear God who has all Power and Authority to kill the soul and cast the body in hell, for His Word raised the dead and called us to live a new and everlasting life in and with Him so that we can glorify our Heavenly Father and His Son the Lord Jesus who are LIFE, versus living in sin (our good and evil) in darkness and hell.”  I thanked Him and praised and worshipped Him.

Later as I was biking to my daughter’s house to let her dog out while she was out-of-town, I saw an inflatable Grim Reaper deflated on a lawn and said within my heart, “Oh good, the Grim Reaper is dead”. There were also zombie brides hanging in a tree, and I heard the Lord say, “bride of Frankenstein”, and I was immediately sickened and weakened because just the day before my daughter texted me a picture of herself made up for a Halloween party asking if I could tell who she was by her makeup, and I said “Bride of Frankenstein”, and she said “yep”. 

This Halloween stuff does not glorify Jesus who came to remove the curse (spells & poison as I saw her Halloween decorative books titled on her shelf); who came to bring us into the Light of God’s Word and make us His glorious bride because of God’s love for us. These things working to instill fear are the workings of Satan causing us who were in the dark to the One True God to fear things created that do not have power and authority, but because of our imagined fear that is not real and not knowing the Word of God, Christ Jesus as Lord, in ALL Truth and Power, we give power and authority in fear to them and display them in their glory.  And “These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them for He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are called Chosen and Faithful.”  Praise God and hallelujah!

I went back to the Grim Reaper’s house today to get a picture, but he’s not there. He’s been replaced with happy pumpkin inflatables, but the zombie brides and the dead hanging from trees were still there along with ghosts, goblins and witches; but I was glad to see the Grim Reaper is no longer in town. Yay!
